I also learned that the fury seat was not for long trips! I decided the seat that I was looking for was on the Springfield, so a couple of weeks after the Sturgis trip, I acquired my dream bike. I literally gained my motorcycle skillset and confidence during that week-long Sturgis experience. I slapped it all together just barley in time to ride from Omaha to Sturgis with four other HD riders. I upgraded all the lights to low profile LEDs, custom headlamp, fiberglass fenders and pulled/repaired dents on the tank then painted the bike parts. I wrecked the Honda (as expected) after 243 miles of riding experience! Insurance totaled it and I bought it back. A Chieftain or Springfield was my original dream, but didn't want my first motorcycle to be a high-end bike.
I was a 55 year-old late comer to riding.
